Overland Track

Back in Melbourne I want to let you know that I had a wonderful experience on the overland track. With my 63 years I made it! I was so pleased to achieve this. Thanks to the perfect organisation and the good care of the guides.

Corporate Team Building

Tasmania is an ideal location for outdoor team building, offering easy access to a variety of adventure activities that offer both achievable challenges and rewarding experiences to employees.

Whether you're looking for action-packed and adrenaline pumping adventures such as rafting the mighty Franklin River, team building multi-day treks that combine bucket-list destinations with unique moments of team building around the campsite, or multi-activity adventures that include accommodated stays in Tasmania's local towns on the east coast, there are plenty of options available.

Whether it's a trip designed to challenge your team, or a relaxing break away from the office, simply contact us with your requirements and we can create a custom itinerary that's specifically designed with your objectives in mind.

Experience the benefits of active adventures

From moments of self reflection on the trail, to challenging yourself in nature, taking in the invigorating sights and surrounds, and enjoying all of the stimulating conversations in between, active adventures provide a number of benefits; both physical and mental. They can be one of the most beneficial team building activities as it engages your team, improves awareness and unlocks their potential. Here are some of the benefits of active adventures for corporate team building.

Social benefits:

Trekking with colleagues can help create long term bonds and relationships in the team. We've hosted a number of corporate teams on our adventures, and can attest that while some groups may start off as colleagues, they always end up as friends. When on active adventures, group members tend to motivate and encourage each other to keep going and persevere when times get tough. Creating an environment where team members can share the good memories and experiences that come with trekking and active adventures can also help them overcome their differences, encourage an acceptance of different kinds of people and increase their ability to adjust and get along with others. Being so far removed from technology during the day also stimulates one-on-one conversations, providing that perfect opportunity to focus on business-related topics, or get to know each other on a more personal level.

Softer skill development:

Trekking and active adventures can do wonders when helping develop management skills. Believe it or not, many of these skills start developing even before you embark on the adventure; from planning the trek and setting training targets prior to departing, to creating goals for the team and learning to adapt and change on the trek to the ever changing experiences, terrain, physical and mental challenges you may experience. These are all skills that are highly valued in the working world, and can be a foundation for personal growth that may surprise your team with a new-founded self confidence!

Reduces Stress:

Sometimes in high pressure work environments, it's hard to detach from the stresses of work for long enough to feel truly revitalized. Studies show that “exposure to nature can counteract the negative effects of stress and anxiety: Those who completed the nature walk tended toward less rumination—the acute focus on one’s distress—than those who took the urban route”. If you're looking for a relaxing getaway for your team, spending time in nature could be the perfect way to shift your teams focus from work, to their task at hand.Trekking often requires a person to be focussed on their activity, where the only distractions are the ever-changing scenery, captivating vistas and dramatic views. Ask any trekker and they’ll attest that spending time in the wilderness was one of the most relaxing times they’ve had.

Overall improved fitness:

We're not the first to admit that the physical challenges of an active adventure can do wonders not only to your fitness but also your overall quality of life. Spending a few hours a day actively exploring a location, whether it be trekking on a trail, climbing boulders, cycling backstreets or rafting rapids gives your whole body a workout, improving your strength, agility and cardio fitness. With many businesses  beginning to invest in healthier, happier workers to increase overall company wellness, the benefits of an active team building adventure are hard to ignore!
