Overland Track

This is a fabulous trip for moderately fit people - age we found is no bar.
Victor and Ashley our guides were very encouraging, and we were lucky with beautiful weather. Cool at night and mostly fine days. The camp cooking was exceptional for wilderness cuisine. The wild flowers were stunning especially the prickly scaparia, of many hues. The buttongrass moorlands with mountains behid were vistas from heaven. This should be on all eco-friendly Australians' bucket list.

South Coast Track with Caro Ryan

Join one of Australia's most passionate bushwalkers, Caro Ryan, on one of Tasmania's finest long-distance walks, carrying a full pack along the unspoiled wilderness of Australia's southernmost shores. This nine-day, 85-kilometre walk offers a spectrum of Tasmanian scenes, from empty beaches to towering rainforests and the alpine heights of the Ironbound Range. Spend your days immersed in wild scenes and wildlife, with the chance to see wombats, quolls and possibly even the orange-bellied parrot, one of the world's rarest bird species. Plus, Caro will be sharing her bushwalking expertise on navigation, gear and apcking, apps for outdoors and leave no trace in the wilderness. By the end of the trip, trekkers will be confident with reading a topographic map, interpreting the terrain, reading ?ground to map? and ?map to ground?, route planning, route finding, taking a compass bearing, estimating distance, speed and time. After a spectacular flight along the coast or mountains to the remote airstrip at Melaleuca in the World Heritage-listed Southwest National Park, you will walk 10 to 15 kilometres each day, carrying up to 20 kilograms and camping at night. The walk has a flexible itinerary that allows for a rest day and time for swims or exploration along the succession of south-coast beaches. Following in the footsteps of early indigenous Australians and ancient seafarers - the South Coast Track was built as an escape route for shipwreck survivors - our knowledgeable guides will lead you through a true wilderness experience and the challenge of a lifetime. If you have have a thirst for full pack hikes, have excellent fitness and an open, flexible approach to being in remote areas for multiple days then this could be the perfect hiking adventure for you!
