The Tasmanian Expeditions difference

Quality active Tasmanian wilderness trips operated responsibly

At Tasmanian Expeditions we offer a range of exclusive adventure holiday experiences as diverse as Tasmania itself. Our tours are an opportunity to challenge yourself in nature, tick off those bucket list destinations and get out into the island's pristine wilderness and truly find yourself.

We’re continually amazed by the remote, rugged and diverse landscapes that Tasmania offers and do everything we can to preserve its unique environment. Our itineraries bypass some of the main Tasmanian tourist attractions, in favour of exploring Tasmania’s more remote corners, giving you access to places you may never have discovered on your own.

Here's a few reasons why you should explore Tasmania with us:

Leave No Trace Australian logo

Responsible Travel

Our entire team shares a deep commitment to maintaining the integrity of the Tasmanian wilderness. Environmental values filter through every aspect of the company, from the minimal impact camping procedures through to the interpretation of environment. Our Leave No Trace policies are in place to ensure destinations retain their natural character and cultural diversity.

Experienced Guides

We have a minimum of two guides on every trip (excluding self guided trips). All our guides have extensive wilderness experience, first-aid and emergency response training, plus a passion for Tasmania’s stunning wilderness. Our guides are equipped with handheld radios, a satellite phone, first aid kit, extra water, food and detailed maps.

All Inclusive

We believe that all inclusive trips offer travellers a better overall experience. We include park fees, permits, internal flights, meals and camping gear in our trip price, as well as gear such as goretex jackets and sleeping bags when required. Exact inclusions are clearly shown on every trip.

Meals and Food

Our food is delicious, hearty and plentiful and where possible, sourced locally. Additional food drops are included on some trips to avoid spoilage and waste and to reduce the weight and quantity of supplies taken on full pack trips. The nutritious meals prepared by the guides on our trips, often in remote locations, will be one of the many trip highlights. We can cater to most dietary needs.

Reliable Equipment

We only provide quality, lightweight and well maintained equipment, whether it’s included in the trip cost or available for hire. With more than four decades experience under our belt, we have an extensive knowledge of the best outdoor gadgets and gear required to handle the remote wilderness.

Private Groups & Flexibility

We can create unique wilderness adventures for anyone, anywhere in Tasmania. We can tailor itineraries for schools, families, corporate groups or just a private group of friends. Our customised private group itineraries offer the same personalised service and exceptional value we've become known for. Contact our private groups team to start discussing your itinerary, budget, group size and any other special request you may have.
