To consider for your next winter adventure

While most people aim to trek in Tasmania during the summer months, there is something truly special about embarking on a multi-day trek during winter. Whether it's that the landscape turns into a white winder wonderland and the tranquil environment is blanketed by snow; or that the lakes freeze over and look like enormous shimmering coins from a distance; or that there are simply far fewer trekkers in the area, giving you true peace and solitude with uninterrupted views across the land... We really can't make our minds up what we love most about it!

Whatever the case, one thing is for sure- if you're an adventure seeking trekker that wants a truly memorable trekking experience, a winter trek could be just what you're looking for.

These treks can be generally more difficult thanks to the variable weather conditions in Tasmania during winter, so be prepared for wind, rain or snow while on your trip. But don't let that deter you - these winter treks are loved by past clients for their spectacular experiences.

This trip was an amazing experience. I have always wanted to see snow, visit Tasmania and do the Cradle Mountain Hike; so what better holiday than Tasmania in winter. The Tasmanian Expeditions experience was great. The booking was easy and came with a huge amount of information to prepare for the trip. Once we arrived and completed the introduction meeting and preparing for the trip we embarked on an adventure. The guides (Wes and Darren) were amazing and can not talk highly enough of them, well prepared and excellent cooks. The hiking was a mixture of hard and easy days but it was rewarding in the end. If you have time to do the trip i highly recommend Tasmanian Expeditions to lead you on the track.
